Tour groups - and tour operators - will love the new Waterloo Region Museum in Kitchener, Ontario.

Exhibits cover human and natural history of the area, from prehistory 10,000 years ago through the high-tech sector of today. The museum building is fully accessible with an elevator to reach second floor exhibit galleries.

Doon Heritage Village, the 1914 living history village, includes more than 20 historic buildings, two farms, costumed staff, farm animals (seasonally) and heritage gardens.  Although most buildings in the living history village are accessible, our compacted gravel pathways and roadways may pose challenges for some visitors.

Motor coaches stop at the museum's front door, and there is lots of free parking for buses.

Hazel's Café overlooks the Peter Martin Farm and Petersburg Railway Station. The café includes snacks and light lunch items. Group catering is available for an additional fee. For more information call 519-748-1914.

The Waterloo Region Museum Gift Shop offers unique gift and souvenir items, reflecting local history and crafts.

Waterloo Region Museum is centrally located in Waterloo Region, with close proximity to Highways 401 and 7/8.  We're close to hotels and a five minute drive to the Homer Watson House and Gallery and and many other cultural facilities in St. Jacobs, Stratford, Kitchener, Cambridge and Waterloo.
